NOTCOT: Banksy’s Village Petstore & Charcoal Grill from Jean Aw on Vimeo.
Here’s a short video of the new show Banksy has on in NYC called Village Pet Store And Charcoal Grill. Its located at 89 7th Avenue between West 4th and Bleeker Street in the West Village of New York City and is open as of NOW to October 31st (Halloween), Banksy’s pet store is officially open each and every daily from 10am until midnight. The space literally looks like a pet show which can be viewed through the front windows at any point of the day of night. The space is 300 square feet and can’t hold more than 20 people at any one time.
This is the first time that Banksy has used animatronics and a show with absolutely no graff. or street art techniques.

Trousers London is a London-based premium men’s jeanswear label recently launched by a team of four multi-disciplinary creatives.
Trousers London makes jeans for the genuine modern day gentlemen, for the man who loves the thrill of the new and is always at the forefront of the avant-garde. This season, however, brings the launch of new designs for the ladies, a slim leg and a bootleg flare with the distinctive tailoring and quirks of the men’s lines.
Honestly I was soo excited to finally see a creative flair and something new in terms of denim. Trousers London are really pushing forward the modern denim industry. They have an online store so buy a pair before the they run out! Each line is ID’d with a unique number from 1-600 per line.
One of my favorite artist is Jon Burgerman, a doodler from the UK. He has been featured on Wooster Collective for his street art and is well known for his progress in contempory character design. For more check Pictoplasma. The other day while shopping in IKEA I was taken back when I saw his art work hanging in their store. It turns out that Burgerman did a poser for them. I made a point to pick it up and was plesently happy with the budget purchase. YEs.

We Have Band is a group from London UK and are signed to the french music/fashion label Kitsune. Their music reminds me of a more raw and bass heavy/ art dance rock The Teenagers and an odd carnival feel like Man Man. But can anyone still say Progressive 80’s music? It doesn’t matter cause there’s a tinge of that in the music We Have Band plays. Just love it.
On Monday Aug. 18 ‘08 Bloc Party announced that this Thursday, the 21 their new album Intimacy was going to be released online and in stores this winter. The interview with Gordon Moakes with Pitchfork talks about what prompted the early and quick release considering that the album was mastered only about a week ago. With the intent of the record to be released winter 08/09 having the album drop today is a perfect example of the groups dedication to the album.
Bloc Party - Better Than Heaven
Mercury was Bloc Party’s first leaked single from Intimacy and kind of blew everyone away. Check the video and the Herve remix of Mercury.

I am appreciating this futuristic designs from London UK’s label Kamakino Design mash up which seems to have taken inspiration from 50’s/60’s contemporary design of the future and the modern off beat oversized trend currently happening.Could the name be influenced by the Joy Devision song Kamakin? I don’t know… just a thought. With this possibility it makes a bit more sense and its possible to see kinda a post-punk UKish influence in the designs.
Take note Komakino Design should not be mistaken for Komakino Gorilla Store out of Vancouver Canada->Post to follow.

After all of the controversy and buzz about Jay-Z headlining at Glastonbury this is the outcome… awesomeness and one of the best live performances when it comes to playing to a crowd. Opening with Oasis‘ Wonderwall, than straight into 99 Problems mashed with ACDC, magnificent. Anyways I’ve located the full performance hosted on MediaFire in a .zip and mp3 quality of 192kb so its pretty decent. Enjoy!
