I’ve decided that Henrik Vibskov jumper/bed is my choice for a Halloween costume and that I should probably wear jumper from this day on. Its available at Seven New York and other Henrik Vibskov product is available at his store The V-Store.

Fashion designer Henrik Vibskov graduated from Central St Martins in 2001 and shows at Paris Fashion Week, where he is currently the only Scandinavian designer on the official show schedule. Jeremy Scott attended the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn he established his label in Paris before returning to America. Celebs love his creative, comical and sometimes flamboyant patterns, some who have been known to wear his creations are Paris Hilton, Madonna, Lindsay Lohan, Kanye West and his good friends Cory Kennedy and the Ed Banger Crew.

The Ottawa based company Overlay.TV has just released their 0.9 Beta and it is looking awesome! There are so many new features built into the player it is great. Monocle, first published in February 2007 is a global briefing covering international affairs, business, culture and design. Headquartered in London with bureaux in Tokyo, Sydney, Zürich and New York. It is published 10 times a year with frequent online updates on their website. The publication started by Canadian journalist and entrepreneur Tyler Brûlé. Brûlé was the one behing Wallpaper* when it started in 1996 in London - which also happens to be another one of my favorite publications. What draws me to Monocle is its diverse content targeted towards an urbanite. In brief Monocle was developed for an international audience hungry for information across a variety of sectors, Monocle’s team of award-winning editors and correspondents have been drawn from The New York Times, The Independent on Sunday, the BBC, CBC and a host of other news and current affairs outlets. I highly recommend gazing through the site or printed pages if your any sort of rennesance man or woman.

For most this is probably old news however if you are unaware Yves Saint Laurent passed away June 1 2008 at the age of 71. Saint Laurent was widely considered the last of a generation of fashion designers that included Christian Dior and Coco Chanel and made Paris the fashion capital of the world. I posted 3 videos one from his Haute couture show in 1962, a Fall/Winter 2008 YSL show and an arty manifesto from S/S08.

A worth while exhibit is being displayed at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art.

For the first time in 25 years, a museum is putting on a major retrospective of Yves Saint-Laurent’s work. And while Love, opening today at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, decidedly favors womenswear (and deservedly so), there are still a few things for the gents—early sketches and drawings of his dabbling in menswear, not to mention photos of the dapper man himself. (Sadly, there’s nothing from the Ford or Pilati eras.) The show is timed to the 40th anniversary of YSL’s founding, and will head to San Francisco’s de Young Museum later this year.

I’ve been a long time lover of Corpus Clothing from way back when they put their first season out so no doubt I was pumped when they finally put their their Spring/Summer 08 online. It took a while but here it is. Corpus S/S’08. There were no official looks for women however their women products are available at ShopStyle.com. For men and women Corpus is available at Oak NYC and Revolve Clothing…. and how can I forget the mens boutique NOMAD in Toronto.

Adidas Originals hooked up the Left-Right Project a web film which documented a art/design competition between artists from Surface 2 Air (NYC) and Upper Playground (San Francisco). The idea is amazing, the art is one of a kind and the film is fun. YE! If only I could get one of the super size shoes…

Word on the street Terry Richardson is doin’ work on the new Belvedere Vodka campaign. A few samples are above. One of the best aspects is how even for such a large scale campaign spanning print, web and TV Terry is able to keep shit legit carrying over his artistic style of in you face photography and meshing it into a more commercial form of photography.
