Teenagers have the power to do a lot of things in society, but could anyone have thought that teenagers could revive Britney’s career? I sure didn’t…. well the remix by The Teenagers just may have brought Britney back in a matter of a 4 minute song. Love it.
We Have Band is a group from London UK and are signed to the french music/fashion label Kitsune. Their music reminds me of a more raw and bass heavy/ art dance rock The Teenagers and an odd carnival feel like Man Man. But can anyone still say Progressive 80’s music? It doesn’t matter cause there’s a tinge of that in the music We Have Band plays. Just love it.

Hailing from Brisbane Queensland Australia, Twist Oliver, Twist! is def. progressing the sound of Australian pop, and even the global music scene. Their fast passed energetic dance sound meshed with a pop infused indie voice. Listening to their tracks I can hear definite similarities to Interpol, some At the Drive-in, The Faint and Bloc Party’s Weekend In The City Album. I am having a hard time believing that they are still unsigned and have only been around since ‘07. Seriously watch our for these guys. The new Klever, a remix of Hot by Big Gipp is tight. What took me back is that is shares a similar sound to distinctive MSTRKRFTs tone. This remix obviously veered away from his electronic ghetto tech dirty south sound that Klever has been known for. Refreshing sound from this producer.
Alex Knost is one of the most influential surfers these days, has ridden the comp. circuit seeing little point in them. So recently he has been doing this thing in Newport Beach and is just happening to be changing the way we all look at surfing.
He is also in the band The Japanese Motors which are very surf/beach cultured sound and based out of Costa Mesa. It also happens that Costa Mesa has this awesome club called Avalon Bar which we hit up last friday.Ye, check it for sure if your in the area.
On Monday Aug. 18 ‘08 Bloc Party announced that this Thursday, the 21 their new album Intimacy was going to be released online and in stores this winter. The interview with Gordon Moakes with Pitchfork talks about what prompted the early and quick release considering that the album was mastered only about a week ago. With the intent of the record to be released winter 08/09 having the album drop today is a perfect example of the groups dedication to the album.
