I’m not one to wear jewelery, on occasion maybe but not on a regular basis at least until I found the work by Philip Crangi(it seems currently his site is down).

“It’s really hard to put pearls on a man,” says jeweler Philip Crangi moving over to a display case of his own designs, “but let’s try this.” Leading his hand through delicate, web-like pendants, his fingers come to rest on a small, embellished black pearl. He affixes the bauble to his ear and turns to a mirror. “Oh, yeah,” he smiles, “that works.”

I’ve been a HUGE fan of Os Gemeos ever since I got into graffiti and street art. When I was able to find this interview with the twins at their Too Far Too Close show in the Deitch Projects space. The Show runs from June 28 to August 09, 2008 18 Wooster Street, New York and is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 12PM to 6PM!

Os Gemeos is famous for their their use of the famous Brazilian style labeled pixacao. They grew up in São Paulo, Brazil and are self taught artists drawing influences from their surrounds and Brazilian culture and history. One of the most prominent aspects I found of their style is the wonderful use of space, utilizing what city scape’s have to offer. Their use of vivid colour and exuberant patterns within their murals draw attention and really makes their work stand out.

I know this interview with Hedi Slimane is old but I recently found it on. It gaves some basic insight into such a respected designer who left Dior in 2007. Being known for furniture design, fragrances, store design, and photography, Slimane is noted for the slim silhouette of his menswear. Anyhow here’s some more insight quoted by Kanye West ”Hedi Slimane is not even a real person. I’m saying that in the most positive way. Saying that he’s not even a human being. Hedi Slimane is truly a god. Bow in the presence of greatness.“

Shephard Fairey is by far one of my favorite artists and designers. While browsing Woostercollective.com I found this interview relating to his Rise Above Exhibition at Merry Kernowsky Gallery which runs from December 1 2007 to January 5 2008. Knowing where his inspiration and influences came from is from being a developing and growing designer to being involved with Obey, Studio Number 1 and Swindle and how he is now in a position to help and employ creatives.
