Jeremy Scott has his new line out, Opulence and the pieces definitely reflect that. Each piece reflects luxury items including the use of credit cards, Rolls-Royce, personal librarys, grandfather clocks, fur animal print and so on.
Jeremy Scott attended the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn he established his label in Paris before returning to America. Celebs love his creative, comical and sometimes flamboyant patterns, some who have been known to wear his creations are Paris Hilton, Madonna, Lindsay Lohan, Kanye West and his good friends Cory Kennedy and the Ed Banger Crew.

I have been meaning to blog about the designer Steve Alan but have never really got around to it. While strolling around Venice we headed down Abbot Kenney in Venice Beach we came across Steve Alan store. Steve Alan’s store resembled the A.P.C. flagship store in SoHo NYC. It had a rustic cabin coziness. The colors were natural and earthly with unfinished hardwood all while keeping a slight influence of a “beach house”.
Steve Alan is located:
1601 Abbot Kinney Blvd.
Venice, CA 90291
310-452-3413
One of the standout aspect of Steve Alan’s designs are the wonderful tailoring and unique but simplistic choice of textiles
The store not only carried Steve Alan Collection but A.P.C., Wings + Horns and others were available.

While searching for information about the label Komakino I came across a boutique in Vancouver Canada coincidentally called Komakino as well. The boutique carries a broad range of high end labels including Ann Demeulemeester, Damir Doma, Gianni Barbato, Julius, Number (N)ine, Passarella Death Squad, Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Sak, Simeon Farrar, The Viridi-Anne, and Undercover.
It seems the idea of the Guerrilla store started by COMME des GARÇONS.
I just want to point out they have a very functional and visually simplistic online store located here.
The Komakino Gurrilla Store is located 109 West Cordova St Gastown Vancouver Canada.

A great site for street wear and underground fashion is HighSnobiety.com and over the summer they have launched two other sibling sites being HighSnobette and Selectism. While checking out HighSnobette I saw these Zanotti suede ankle boots and felt the design and color were amazing. Unique detailing and with a simplistic form. There available at Net-A-Porter. If you owned these I would want to date you.

April77 is a label from France with their FW/08/09 collection being based around Rock n Roll but going deeper being influenced by the 80/90’s non Londoners UK population. Large over sized knight wear straight skinny slacks and denim. It’s great seeing what is a very French/Parisian label and style incorporate with a UK influence. The colors consist of monochromatic grays, blacks and blues. A good touch is the acid wash…? Is this even considered acid wash when its this extreme? But anyways the bleached denim are a great addition to the collection. April77 is available at Carte Blanche in Toronto and Seven NYC.

SS08

FW08/09

I am appreciating this futuristic designs from London UK’s label Kamakino Design mash up which seems to have taken inspiration from 50’s/60’s contemporary design of the future and the modern off beat oversized trend currently happening.Could the name be influenced by the Joy Devision song Kamakin? I don’t know… just a thought. With this possibility it makes a bit more sense and its possible to see kinda a post-punk UKish influence in the designs.
Take note Komakino Design should not be mistaken for Komakino Gorilla Store out of Vancouver Canada->Post to follow.

A new shirt company is making an impact in the world and I would go out and say could possible be the new HoH of 2k9. based out of Rome Italy 5 PreView seems to draw influence from the punk / thrash / electro scene.
Is the whole alt masked Dj thing an inspiratoin of 5PreView or is that whole mystery dj/producer being influenced by them? Anyways can anybody say Bloody Beetroots…? HeartsRevolution…?
A bit of background…When House of Holland came out with the large font t-shirt prints with witty sayings everyone was lovin’ it. With their new lines, HoH have definitely a more mature design yet still true to their original “clame to fame”. Once HoH set this lets say style H&M quickly cough on with half ass pointless saying. So with that being said I am calling 5PreView as being the shirt company of 2k9.
Lets leave it at I am lovin’ the design/shirts from 5PreView def. watch out for them!
