Adidas Originals hooked up the Left-Right Project a web film which documented a art/design competition between artists from Surface 2 Air (NYC) and Upper Playground (San Francisco). The idea is amazing, the art is one of a kind and the film is fun. YE! If only I could get one of the super size shoes…

Word on the street Terry Richardson is doin’ work on the new Belvedere Vodka campaign. A few samples are above. One of the best aspects is how even for such a large scale campaign spanning print, web and TV Terry is able to keep shit legit carrying over his artistic style of in you face photography and meshing it into a more commercial form of photography. Terry mentioned “They really allowed me to put my own spin on the campaign.” For more information on Terry or the campaign check the Belvedere site and look in Discover Luxury Reborn where they have a dedicated section for Terry Richardson, Vincent Gallo and RZA.

I know that there are great boutiques through out Canada but the two that come to my mind when I hear the term mens wear are Nomad Shop - Toronto and Reborn - Montreal. These two stores carry progressive international labels only found in a select boutique’s throughout the world. Some of my favorite labels brought to Canada by one or the other of these two stores are Comme des Garçons, Common Projects, Corpus Clothing, Nom De Guerre, Robert Geller, Rogan, Supreme, Surface To Air, Visvim and W+H all available at Nomad Shop. At Reborn we have Henrik Vibskov, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Raf Simons.

 I have never yet been to Reborn however Nomad is one of the best stores in Toronto I feel. Great service, great labels and a very humble interior.

I’ve recently been looking threw a lot of typography and one site that seems to have it all is Veer. It’s a website that not just sells fonts but a lot of other useful things like photography, illustrations and merchandise. One item I really enjoy is the umbrella, it’s extremly classic with a hint of contemporary style created with the inside typography.

I am currently taking Issues in Popular Music and last class we were discussing sampling music and whether or not it is less original / creative than a fully new and original song. On that note here is a pretty interesting example of the progression of music and the use of sampling.
